The World's First Payment Implant Is Sold In England

The British startup Walletmor presented the world with the first payment solution that does not require a phone, a card, or a watch - payment with a chip embedded in the hand. The cost of such a biopolymer device is 199 euros.

To use this device, a chip that is only half a millimeter is inserted under the skin. It consists of an integrated circuit and a metal shell that acts as an antenna. At the same time, according to the developers, the tracking or GPS system is not embedded in the chip, and the metal frames do not recognize it.

The purchase of the chip takes place online, then the client picks it up at the post office and implants it with the help of a doctor under anesthesia. The procedure generally takes 15 minutes and the full healing process takes 4 weeks. Walletmor implants expire 8 years from the date of purchase. It is then removed in the same way.

To activate the chip, you need to download the iCard app and set up a digital wallet account. With the help of the application, you can replenish, track and fully manage your personal finances.

After setting, the debiting of money is initiated by bringing a hand to the terminal. Security is provided by 3-D secure technology.
